When Organize is the right tool
For single operations — just rotating, just deleting, just merging — the dedicated tools are faster. Organize is the right pick when the PDF needs a combination of edits at the page level:
- Cleanup after a scanner batch. Some pages reversed, some blank, some need rotating, page 7 should actually be at the end.
- Building a custom packet. Cover from one PDF, body from another, appendix from a third — all reordered into a final delivery PDF.
- Reorder + remove. "Drop the first 10 pages, then move what was page 25 to the front."
- Photo album assembly. Drag pages into the right narrative order, rotate landscape shots, delete the duplicates.
- Discovery production prep. Final-pass reorder before stamping and producing.
How to organize a PDF (step by step)
- Open Organize PDF.
- Upload one or more PDFs — pages from every file land in the same grid.

Tips for drag-and-drop workflows
- Plan before you drag. Decide your target order before reorganizing — drag operations don't have an undo stack in v1.
- Use page-group drops. Drop another PDF onto the grid to append all its pages at once; reorder afterwards.
- Rotate while reordering. The per-page rotate button works at any point — fix orientation before moving the page.
- For large PDFs. 100+ pages can be slow to scroll-and-drag. Split first using Split PDF, organize each chunk, then merge the cleaned chunks.
Troubleshooting
- Thumbnails are slow to render. Each page is rendered with pdfjs; large PDFs (200+ pages) take a moment to thumbnail. Wait for the grid before reordering.
- Page order looks scrambled after save. The output order matches the grid order at save time. If a drag didn't visibly land where you wanted, re-drag before saving.
- Inserted PDF's form fields collide. Multiple PDFs can have fields with the same names. Run inputs through Flatten PDF first to convert fields to page content.
- Lost page numbers. Printed page numbers don't update after reorder. Run the output through Number Pages to re-paginate.
